Administrative Director – Vertical Church – Atlanta, GA 30310

Vertical Church is inviting applications to fill a part-time staff role for the Administrative Director.

Purpose

The purpose of the Administrative Director is to ensure overall ministry development and health in order to accomplish the church’s unique mission. The Administrative Director provides leadership for key strategic functions to include operations and administration, people development, communications, information technology, and special projects. The role requires genuine, personal love for Jesus Christ and the people He cares for, thorough understanding of Biblical disciple-making, administrative acumen, people and team building skills, professionalism and confidentiality as well as exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

A Successful Candidate should demonstrate:

    • Track record of strong leadership, a dedication to serving others, and a commitment to working interdependently.
    •  Thorough understanding of Biblical leadership and ability to articulate this concept to others
    • Gifting in pastor/shepherd, leadership, administration, teaching, wisdom, and/or related spiritual gift.
    • Team Leader with an ability to build a team and work with other employees, interns and volunteer team members
    • Maintains high standards of integrity and lives above reproach
    • Maintains healthy marital relationship or singleness
    • Personal commitment to emotionally healthy spirituality
    • Committed to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission
    • Passionate about the church’s role in community transformation and Kingdom advancement
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in church or nonprofit setting
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university, seminary or theological school and/or related experience
  • Business/entrepreneurial experience, education or related training
    • Systems thinker preferred
    • Management experience in a volunteer-oriented organization
    • Knowledge of the MS Office suite, email, internet, and ability to learn other technologies
  • Reliable transportation

Desired Results:

The work of the Administrative Director is to be known by church leaders, staff, leaders, team members, guests, partners, and community members for servant leadership, love, passion, stewardship, and graciousness, both privately and publically.

Service Impact:

This role is designed to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ through leadership, prayer, modeling, everyday ministry, and strategic ministry development.

The purpose of the Go Leader is to equip and assist the church to accomplish the mission of lovingly impacting the lives of others. The Go Leader works in conjunction with the Lead Pastor and ministry team to create a movement of Biblical service, locally and globally, by developing core activities, tasks, and resources related to local service engagement, missions, and community development. The role requires genuine, personal love for Jesus Christ and the people He cares for, thorough understanding of God’s Word and Biblical service, professionalism and confidentiality as well as exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

A Successful Candidate should demonstrate:

  • Track record of strong leadership, a dedication to serving others, and a commitment to working interdependently.
  • Thorough understanding of Biblical service and ability to articulate this concept to others
  • Gifting in evangelism, mercy, leadership, administration, or related area
  • Personal commitment to emotionally healthy spirituality
  • Team Leader with an ability to build a team and work with other employees, interns and volunteer team members
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to empathize, and oral and written skills.
  • Adept at multi-tasking
  • Systems thinker preferred
  • Management experience in a volunteer-oriented organization.
  • Possess a bachelors degree and/or 5 years experience in discipleship opportunities
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite Email, Internet and ability to learn other technologies
  • Reliable transportation
